Modern Day Analysis of the Cold War
There are many examples of the Cold War in the modern day. One example was the meeting between Obama and the Russian leader. That happened just a few weeks ago, that meeting was about both of our nations reducing the number of Nuclear weapons we have. Also, recently we let everyone know how many nuclear arms we have. We mostly did that because we are demanding that information from other countries. Another example would be memorials that we have. Like where the Berlin Wall fell down, that symbolized the U.S.S.R. on the East and the USA and the West.

Cold War Tensions 5
My last Cold war tension between the U.S.A and the U.S.S.R. would have to be the U2 crisis. Americans had a spy plane near Russia but the Soviets shot it down. It was a frightining time because both sides thought this would lead to more fighting. This was probably one of the most violent events in the cold war because there was no fighting in the end.
Cold War Tensions 4
My 4th Example is the Arms race, after bombing Hiroshima, the Russians sent out a nuclear bomb itself. America didn't like that so they sent an H-Bomb and Russians sent out an H-Bomb the year after.
Cold War Tensions 3
Another Example for tension was the Space race, Russia sent out a satellite called Sputnik, they sent it into space with an ICBM. After the satellite was launched the US was jealous and worked hard to sent out a satellite of their own.

Cold War Tensions 2
Another tension in the Cold War was the power that both the USA and the USSR had. At one point in this war both countries had some kind of Nuclear weapon. That is why there was no fighting in the Cold War, both countries were afraid of each others power. The USSR was especially afraid after the USA had dropped bombs on Japan.
Cold War Tensions

There are many examples of Cold War tensions. One example was putting up the Berlin Wall, this frustrated Russia because it was Americas was to stop the spread of communism to Western Europe. Russia was not happy because they could not push farther west because so many American and British people were still in Berlin, and most of the time people who were scared would sneak over to west Berlin.

Cold War Summary
My Superpower is the USA because we are in a democracy. The Cold War was a war between the USA and the USSR. They were the only superpowers after World War 2. This war included wars inside of it, like the Chinese War, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The main point of the war was for USA to stop the spread of communism to Russia's satellite nations. The War lasted from about 1945 to the early 1990's. One of the biggest symbols of this war was the Berlin Wall. It kept Western Europe from becoming communist. The US was trying to contain China from becoming communist, For the Chinese War, Mao Zedong drove out Chiang Kai-Shek who went to Taiwan. Truman was blamed for losing China to communism. For the Korean War, we helped out South Korea since they were losing to the Communist North Korea. That war ended in a stalemate but Americans were very unhappy that we were in that war in the first place. The main fighters in this war was the superpowers, USA with Truman and Eisenhower as president and then there was Joseph Stalin who lead the USSR.
